 Dr. Douglas Thurman is a gastroenterologist with Texas Digestive Disease Consultants in Dallas, Texas. He has also served as Vice Chairman of BUMC Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee, on the medical executive board of the Texas GI Associates and the Texas Surgery Center. His areas of interest have included various practices in internal medicine and gastroenterology, particularly endoscopy, polypectomy, and other clinical approaches pertaining to the study of the GI tract.
Dr. Thurman has overseen the instruction and supervision of gastroenterology fellows with North Texas Gastroenterology Consultants at the Baylor University Medical Center. In addition to his membership to the American College of Gastroenterology, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Dr. Thurman is also a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Thurman received both his bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree at Texas A&M University, and his medical degree the University of Texas. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
