 Doctor Ronnie Fass is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona. He is also Staff Gastroenterologist and Director of GI Motility Laboratories at the Southern Arizona V.A. Health Care System and the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Fass’s studies have involved the assessment of esophageal motility and sensation, with focus on non-cardiac chest pain and non-erosive reflux disease. His recent research has focused on brain-gut interactions. In his clinical experience, he has also participated in esophageal studies using a computerized distension device (Barostat) under the mentorship of Dr. Emeran Mayer. He trained in GI motility at UCLA and supplemented his experience with a rotation under Dr. Michael Camilleri at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Fass studied medicine at the Ben-Gurion University in Beer Sheva, Israel. He performed training in medicine at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center while also serving as chief resident. He then completed his fellowship in GI at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After completion of his fellowship in GI, he moved back to the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System as a staff gastroenterologist, establishing a physiology and GI motility lab. |
